Student Travel
Every other year, the Spanish III and IV students from Cedar Grove-Belgium High School have the opportunity to use the skills that they have learned in a Spanish speaking country.

We travel with Interact Travel, an organization which emphasizes home-stays to practice Spanish in an authentic setting. They are also dedicated to zero-tolerance for alcohol or drug use for the participants.

The next trip to COSTA RICA is scheduled for June 2012. The itinerary looks great!

iN 2008 we went to to Peru. We arrived in Lima and then traveled to the colonial city of Cuzco. In Cuzco we saw the Incan fortress of Koricancha and the Cathedral of San Blas, among other sites. The students stayed with Peruvian families for five days. We visited the ruins of Sacsayhuaman and Pisac. Then we spent a day at one of the new 8 Wonders of the World, Machu Picchu. The site is incredible. The students, the guide and some good luck made this the smoothest trip we have had:)

In the summers of 2002, 2004, and 2006 we traveled to Mexico for 10 days. We arrived in Mexico City and spent two days there. We toured the Metropolitan Cathedral, Museum of Anthropology, and the Basilica of Guadalupe. We also viewed the Diego Rivera Murals in the National Palace and visited the ruins of Teotihuacán. We continued on to Mérida or Oaxaca for the home-stay and toured the archeological zone of Chichén Itzá or MonteAlban. The final two days were spent on Isla Mujeres, Vera Cruz or Playa del Carmen.
